Talk (or force :-) them into using a ssh client.
There are some good free ones available.
If they are coming from an unix-box, they may use ssh directly,
if coming from a Windoze - use Teraterm+ttssh. I also remember
having somebody mention Secure CRT or something like that.
I use Teraterm also for normal (i.e. non-ssh) telnet operations.
A handy program with intuitive cut-n-paste.
