I am still out of luck with this update.

Earlier today, I installed rev 1 of the qpopper-3 pkg, rebooted as was
suggested by the list, and it worked okay. :-)

i was having trouble with relaying, so i tried updating the relaying package,
but that wiped both qpopper and pop-before-relay from the UI.

so i removed qpopper-3rev1 and pop-before-relay 1.2, and installed qpopper
rev2, and pop-before-relay 1.2-3.

i got the same PAM error as yesterday:

      ** Pop server error ?-ERR [AUTH] PAM authentication failed for user 
      "paul": Authentication failure (7)?

i rebooted, but no luck.

so i have reverted qpopper back to 2.53, and i reinstalled the old
pop-before-relay. it works now.

sigh.
