Re: [cobalt-security] RaQ3-All-Kernel-4.0.1-2.216C24III.pkg

Hey All,

I've seen this issue come up more and more in the tech support mails
(which I handle). If you have a server that took a dive after the patch,
please provide any and all information that you can. I'm trying to
gather information which may help the development team with why it
happens to some, but not others. It seems to be something triggering,
when the patch doesn't take.

Let me know:
1 what was installed (ie, third party stuff)
2 what patches you had installed prior to install
3 Any hardware upgrades, etc

As a precaution, if you have a production server, do backups before
using this patch. If possible, hold off till the issues are resolved.
This is not an official statement by Cobalt or Sun, just my experience.
=)
