You must not have been looking in the right place.  See
http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/index.html for update packages and
descriptions.  The files themselves are in
http://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/, but the hyperlinks are listed in the
1st URL above so you shouldn't need to FTP there and surf around.
