As far as logs go one of the best suggestions I ever heard of was to use
something like a CD-R to write your logs to, or some "write once" style
media like that. This way if some script kiddy every gets in you have
complete logs of everything they did.

Sorry to speak up like this on the list but I just cringe at the idea of
someone
logging EVERY keystroke of a user. Granted in this case I'm sure it's only the
root user account your referring to, and that may serve some very practical
purpose but that type of mentality just leads to "lets log everyone because
who knows what account they will come in on" and that is a scary snowball
in my opinion...
