Have done but good old Outlook (yeah I know I have to use MS products at
work as well!) still flags that as a new mail even though it goes straight
to the deleted folder!!

Set up a message block on his email addy in your mail client.  That should
stop anymore of his annoying messages being downloaded to your computer.
Probably a lot faster than waiting for a list administrator to lend a hand
in removing this fool.
