Exactly. And if you tar + gzip them up as root and make that tarball 
accessible for admin, then you don't need to worry about the file permissions 
and ownerships once you extract the tarball.

Another fine option is to simply use "scp". It's secure copy and you can use 
it to copy files and folders ssh encrypted from one machine to another.
