RE raQ4r
Hi There
I am configuring on of my domains to take a wild card.
Will this open me up to any security problems?
I am doing the following:
--- SNIP ---
moonmerchant.com. IN SOA moon.moonlink.net. admin.moon.moonlink.net. (
2001082016
10800
3600
604800
86400
)
moonmerchant.com. IN NS moon.moonlink.net.
; End SOA Header
;
; Do Not edit BIND db files directly.
; Use the administrative web user interface
; /admin/ -> Control Panel -> DNS Parameters
; Custom additions may be made by creating a file of the same name as this
but
; with a; .include suffix. Click Save Changes in the DNS web interface and
; the inclusion will be made.
;
moonmerchant.com. in a 207.155.67.82
mail.moonmerchant.com. in a 207.155.67.82
www.moonmerchant.com. in a 207.155.67.82
moonmerchant.com. in mx 30 moonmerchant.com.
~
---------------------- /SNIP ------------------------
I am going to make a file in /etc/named called
pri.moonmerchant.com.include <-- is this the correct file extention?
In the file will be the statement
* in a 207.155.67.82
Has any one had any experience with this?
I am using a web based web page maker that requires a wild card statement.
My main concern is security and most important I don't want to break my
raQ4r that has been working GREAT.
Thanks
Jerry Davis
