Okay here we go...

How about instead of calling up the admin GUI via the
normal way (before you made the change) -e.g., 

 http://<IP>/admin  

== Now try it as ==

 http://<IP>/admin-katy

Hence the purpose of the change..

Well since you just changed the server config file and
removed the old rewrite for the "admin" GUI to this
new one (admin-katy) - the old URL no longer works so
you don't have to worry about blocking it.. It's not
there any longer.. Think about it...
