[cobalt-security] How to install self-signed cert?

I am looking for a writeup or a FAQ pointer...

I have upgraded to Apache 1.3.20 on my RaQ 3.  I
did NOT, however, run "make install", as I had
read that this would screw up the Cobalt
web gui.

How to install a self-signed cert?  I thought I had
copied files to the correct places, and with the proper
names, but admserv is not picking up on it.  I'm not
going to run admserv until I get this figured out,
as I don't consider basic HTTP authentication
to be "good enough" by a long shot :-)

p.s. my return address is just what I do for a lot of
mailing lists... I safeguard my preferred email address
from big lists (don't want it harvested for spam. whereas
this one I can change easily enough...)
