Cobalt as standard only allows 256 open files per user.
This is sometimes a problem for the root user, especially if analog is
running.
You can do something like this:
echo "if [ "$UID" = "0" ] ; then ulimit -n 2048 ; ulimit -u 1024 ; fi" >
/etc/profile.d/boost.sh
chmod a+x /etc/profile.d/boost.sh
When you reboot, most sessions should now have the higher values.
