Well, I'm no security expert at all, but the steps I've taken to make my own
RAQ 'more secure than before' are:-
Install RAQ3 patches which fix known security holes.
Enable SSH.
Disable Telnet.
Enable port forwarding with my SSH client so I can 'tunnel' my admin GUI
with SSH.
Enforce POP before SMTP.
Use SCP instead of FTP.
Install IPChains firewall.
Install PortSentry.
Install LogSentry.
Install latest chkRootKit and run periodically.
... all done with help from this list :-)
And of course, keep up to date with the latest security issues and patch new
issues when ever possible.
Hope this helps,
Steven
