My ISP running Cobalt server has PHP config. variable "safe_mode enabled"
for system-wide security concerns. My needs are to have "safe_mode
disabled" to run a e-commerce package. My question to the group; Is it
possible to have "safe_mode disabled" for an individual directory, without
compromising system-wide security?
Simply answer: No. However, you can set safe mode off on a site by
site basis in the Apache config file. If you try asking your ISP
nicely....
