I presume you've done this by now, Julian, and have your answers.

I was out the past two days fixing broken systems, and didn't have time
to read the list, but now I thought I could get some "stuff" into the
archvies.

The RaQ should mirror the primary drive to the backup the backup drive
can be larger than the primary.

Depending on which drive went out, you may have to move the drive inside
the RaQ.

If the primary drive went out, you must move the secondary drive to the
primary drive location and install your new drive as the secondary
drive.

It can take hours to fully restore a mirror, but it happens
automatically in the background; your RaQ should only be down long
enough to install the new drive.

Depending on what you can find you _should_ restore with a 5400 rpm
drive on RaQ4s. Faster drives will give off more heat and use more
power, and you could find yourself going up against he system design
specifications.

That said, we've got some RaQs with two 7200 rpm drives, and they seem
to do okay.

However, we run in a very cold data center; you get jackets when you go
in and if both fans fail the RaQs continue to run cool enough. YMMV.

That's it.
