Hi,

I'm french, so please excuse my bad english ...

Ok, that's correct, that the Raq4 made great jobs for us all, and will
probably continue like that some years.
We think also that it's time to change, and to buy new hardware. So, last
year, we buyed a brand new XTR 850MHz. We had alot of problems, and nobody
could help us. The first time, MySQL hangs always. A uninstall and new
install made the job good for some days, and he do that again. No customer
was working with MySQL, so we can't think about a user manipulmation
error...
We decided to restore the server, and try it again. That was the good
restore. The server worked great for ... 2 weeks, then sendmail begin to
fail.... Nobody in the Cobalt mailling list could help us also with
detailled error messages. Then we had some Apache errors, and we decided
that this product was really not mature. The server was solded for half the
price, and was not 6 months old !?

And now, Sun comes with the GREAT Raq550 !
Hey ! Nice server ! Great features ! Big bugs also.
Did you read the Sun Raq forum ??? All that Raq550 with strange behaviours,
with Apache who stopps always, with all the PHP upgrade problems, and Perl
??? I want to ask 1 thing to Sun : Hey, guys, what do you want to do ?
Great and rock solid Servers, or $$$ ???
Did you read such problems with Ensim based Servers ? Plesk ? Dell Servers
? Intel ? HP ? I read alot about all that, and i see that every server
have sometimes problems, but really not like Cobalt.
BUT, i love this Raq's, and have a real pain if we are forced to look
elsewere.
I really hope that Sun will strike soon, and make again uptodate rock solid
servers.

This is only my $.02 comment.
Best regards
Alexandre

Don't hold your breath or you will be black and blue in the face.
