Re: [cobalt-security] Open source

Paul

"Security advisors", they are so much more believable when they are named.
In any case Open-Source is much more trustworthy than Microsoft. Have you
ever written a program using Microsoft's APIs. There are so many libraries
that are unexplained, seem unnecessary, but are required. Microsoft's
documentation is some of the worst in the business, they can't help but
leave gapping holes in their software. No one really knows, even our
programming colleagues in Redmond. "Windows XP is a complete rewrite", yeah
right, who are they kidding.

Open-Source is line by line confidence. CERT are by far a better authority
than unnamed Security experts, hey my dog is a security expert too, he barks
when I say BSD and growls when I say .NET, I think I will that indicates
something ...

Sorry, to all those who use this list for security related mails. Paul you
succeed in drawing me into this ridiculous debate. Lets not tell anyone
about this email ...:-)
