Amazing... you're absolutely right of course.  I didn't look at the date
or I wouldn't have replied.  It just suddenly showed up in Netscape
(4.72) as a new message (I didn't do anything to Netscape, and I've got
threading turned on.  I do have tens of thousands of messages in this
Netscape instance, all archived and threaded.  I've got over 7,000
messages in my cobalt-security folder.  But other folders have more and
it shouldn't create a problem.

A bug?  A feature <smile>?

My guess is the system somehow lost track of it's header index and
marked it as new <frown>.

Time to clean up my folders and get rid of old posts I'd guess.
