I am using two tools and I am reasonably satisfied with the setup:
1. On entry, MessageWall (http://www.messagewall.org) does blackhole
list handling and scanning for viruses.
2. On local delivery, SpamAssassin (called from system-wide procmailrc)
tags mail for possible spam for easy filtering on the user agent side.
