You only need one, but that is probably not your trouble.
Do you have an 'a' record for domain.com and mail.comain.com
I don't know why so many people bother using mail.domain.com
It only creates more work.
The simplest setuup is;
an 'a' record for domain.com
an 'a' record for www.domain.com
an 'mx' record for domain.com pointing to domain.com
and email alias in 'site Settings" domain.com
lets have the real name and I'll look at DNS,
send it to me off list if you prefer
