Dude, they purchased Cobalt to kill it..!! make no mistake.
Then sun's stock tanked, and they were forced to try and make the cobalt line work... you see how awful that went.. They WILL kill off the cobalt line as they had planed to do in the first place. Sun is just an old dying legacy company that can not keep up with the economy or technology...
