RE: [cobalt-security] Backup Raq 500

That is the Linux version.

a quote from the Arkeia site:

To acknowledge the contribution of thousands of Linux users who have donated time and expertise toward the goal of making Linux a viable alternative OS, Arkeia Corp. has made a full version of Arkeia available to Linux users at no cost for personal or commercial use.

This is a fully enabled copy of Arkeia for Linux. Arkeia Light is designed to provide Linux-based PCs and small networks with enterprise-caliber backup capability.

The Arkeia Light version is a complete version of the Arkeia solution for 1 Linux server attached to a single-tape tape drive (SCSI) and 2 Type-2 client machines (i.e. Linux, FreeBSD/BSD/OpenBSD/NetBSD, or a Mac OS X, MS-Windows workstation).

It has NO time limit and can provide you with interactive and periodic backups; only the backup of NFS mounted volumes is disabled.

I tried installing an old 4.x version of arkeia on a custom linux server but that wasn't able to connect to the default arkeia client installed on the RaQ550 so I went to the light version..

Works like a charm.

good luck :P
