There is a way to turn iptables off, and ipchains on.
there is come accounting rules running in iptables....
Not sure what turning those off will do to the system
chkconfig iptables off
/etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables stop
chkconfig ipchains on
Then when you have your rules configured
/etc/rc.d/init.d/ipchains start
I would, change all to iptables,
I converted pmfirewall rules to iptables
