We have always had the same problem even for our Thawte Certs. The update does not show up until you actually reboot the machine. Restarting HTTPD does not do anything but doing a reboot will.
Just guessing: restart Ahttpd instead of httpd? Jelmer

Thank you for your help! The next day it worked without a reboot or any other action. Joachim gave me the hint that the certificate gets valid the next day.
