[cobalt-security] Old post archiving proposal

- List-id: Mailing list for users to address network security on Cobalt products. <cobalt-security.list.cobalt.com>
It is my intention to import all messages from
cobalt-*@list.cobalt.com into cobalt-*@lists.qbalt.com lists
sometime next week. I will grab a final snapshot of each list Friday
afternoon -- hopefully just before Craig turns off the server... :)
I also plan to alter the mailman-added headers and/or footers on each
message to change all instances of list.cobalt.com to
lists.qbalt.com, so that each message's footer will properly point to
the new archive location. No other content in the messages will be
removed or altered.
I will also make every effort to strip out personal email addresses in
the message headers... basically anything in the form of
<blah@xxxxxxxxxxx> will be replaced with the appropriate list email
address: <cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, etc. I will *not* be
altering email addresses in the bodies of the messages, as there are
many with "legit" addresses used as examples, etc. and picking
through them all would take way too much time.
If anyone does not want their old posts included in the qbalt
archives, it will be a whole lot easier if you let me know now before
we do the importing. Please send me an email offlist stating your
desire to have old posts removed from the "new" archives. I will not
be selectively editing posts - either all your posts to all lists are
included, or they are all excluded.
