[cobalt-security] nmap issue

Responsding to the following response.  nmap will temporarily cause the
server to not response to any TCP call, not http, not ssh, not telnet, not
ftp.

By the way, if you do a nmap on localhost, then it will show u the list of
open port, but if you try to nmap the cobalt server from another linux box,
it will cause the server to stop responding for at least few minutes.

I actually try to nmap to a server co-location company cobalt server and the
same thing happen, it cause the server to not respond to my http request.

Try doing a tcpdump during the nmap scan, to see what's going on behind the
scenes. Which part of the raq hangs? Is it just the system admin? Is it all
WWW? Or is it all TCP/IP? If you can narrow it down to one of the services,
you can probably nail down what the problem is.

Also, if its a bug somewhere in the software, cobalt will release a patch
for it.

I tried the nmap -sS command on a RaQ 4i with 128mbram and 20gb harddisk
and a RaQ 3 with 32mbram and 10,2gb harddisk and absolutely noting happend.
The portscan went great, and ive got a nice open ports list. So i can't
seem te see the problem here.
