Thanks. Sometimes the obvious needs to be checked. Whereas the one sometimes
expects a tough problem, one overlooks the easy solution. crond was stopped,
is now started and set to automatically start at reboot.
Thanks for your help. Also the resources at: http://www.uk2raq.com/raqfaq/
saved a lot of time on setting it to start on reboot.
