Well remember who wrote the pkg format in the first place and why they
included this section at all have you checked every cobalt pkg to see if any
of them do this, there are many 3rd party vendors out there who do use this
method for registration. notice the register@xxxxxxxxxxxxx address that is
standard in the pkg templates that you download from developer.cobalt for
the RaQ3/4 templates anyway.

I have worked with a number of developers doing packages for cobalt who
didn't realize that this would be frowned upon, don't jump down the guys
throat for it there has been no pkg for php for the RaQ3 until now.

Andreas seems a nice guy after all no one else did a package for the RaQ3
and released it we should all be working to encourage this activity for some
people it is the only way to install software on to their RaQ not everyone
wants to be a sysadmin geek and for some it is convenience to know that it
is tried and tested. Personally I support Andreas though I don't know other
than through the list, I applaud his effort and hope that with encouragement
he will remove the registration and continue to develop pkg's for all. His
mail above certainly shows that commitment. I thought as a group we should
encourage not blast someone's efforts.

If anyone feels they should flame me for this then please do so to my
address not to the list.
