[cobalt-security] nrcpt in log file

Hello,

I'm trying to closely monitor the mailing list volume on the server. I
haven't been able to produce anything useful in the various log files
that majordomo supposedly creates.

I see in maillog that there is a field called nrcpt that is usually
equal to 1, but in the case of mailing lists appears to be slightly
higher. Is this the number of recipients of the message?

There is no manpage for maillog, and man sendmail doesn't say anything
about nrcpts. Can anyone point me to what the log file data means?

Also, the cobalt servers produce this interesting mail.log into
/home/sites/site??/logs/. It looks just like a webserver log so that I
could run analog on it or whatever. It doesn't look like anything good
(for my purposes) remains in this log file, but I could be wrong. Can
anyone confirm?

What do you use to keep your mailing lists in check?

Thanks,
Matt
