Hi all,
Due to the openssh scare over the last few days, I decided to try and
install openssh 3.3 from the tarball on the openssh homepage.
This did not go to well, and though I had followed all instructions ( from
here - http://linux.rice.edu/help/tips-ssh.html ) I never quite managed to
get it working.
My problem is:
I installed the pkg from package masters over the top figuring this would
overwrite everything with the pre-configured 3.4 version and that this would
solve all my problems...... I should have known better!
Now, when I try to log in:
It connects, accepts my user name, but keeps re-prompting for my password!!!
Things ive tried
- I have changed the admin password in the gui and tried logging in again
- I can telnet into the box using same user and pass????
I am at my wits end, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
MJM
