It checks http://sunsolve.sun.com/patches/cobalt/$DIR.$LANG.html for the
correct order of patches.

There's the line ...
extrapackages="" # Used for 3rd party packages, mainly...
... in it which I guess can be used for that purpose. But it appears that this
functions is not yet properly implemented, so you'll have to install those
packages the usual way.
I think it would be best to ask Martin Moeller from cobalt-aid2.lindist.dk the
rest of the questions, as he's the author. :o)
