Hello,
This is not really security related but I thought I'd share this with you.
We have recently upgraded our MySQL installation to MySQL 4.0.12 using
MySQL's RPMs. Our server is a RAQ4i with 512MB of RAM.
Since we have activated MySQL's "query cache" feature (configured with 16MB
cache on our machine), we have noticed that the machine's average "load"
dropped from ca. 2 to 0.7. Your mileage may vary, of course, but if you have
a RAQ4 that could need some more performance, consider upgrading to a recent
MySQL and activate the query cache.
Bye!
