RE: [cobalt-security] IDE RAID1

we have Duplidisks in loads of servers, they work perfect and fit in fine
get the PCB (not PCI!) version as its just a flat circuit board, you can
connect any IDE drive you want as long as its bigger than the original

There is no configuring to do once it work - there great

To install on a RaQX assuming your RaQ is running you WILL have to offline
it while you do the install
Step1 Get an IDE Drive and Dupildisk - and a Cobalt mounting bracket if you
want one (we made ours!)
Step2 remove the Current Drive and connect the New and Current drive to the
DD
Step3 connect the I/O connection on the DD to a standard IDE Primary Host
channel on a normal PC
Step4 boot the PC from the DD boot disk
Step5 choose copy master(the raq disk) to slave(the new blank disk) and
leave for a couple of hours
Step6 when complete install the DD original HD and New HD into the RaQ3
Step7 switch on the RaQ - finished

Hope that helps ;)

Malcolm,

Do you use the ARCO Duplidisk in your RaQ server, and if so, which RaQ model
and which Duplidisk model?

I have been thinking about stuffing the Duplidisk Direct into my RaQ3, but
wanted to know if anyone else has actually done this first. I'm pretty sure
there is physical room in there for the second drive and the Duplidisk
controller.

Thanks,
