Do you know that for certain? How do you know that telnet is working if
you can't telnet in to see?

It won't work if the file is named "named.disabled'; only if it's named
"named.conf". That's why I asked if you'd been able to restart the
nameserver.

Have you heard from your ISP yet? I think the lesson to be learned here
is to not colocate or rent anywhere where you don't have 24/7 telephone
access, either by direct line, or to a cellphone. And try the access
before you need it, to make sure the numbers aren't just ignored. Have
a good contract in place that lets you break it without recourse (and
also gives you penalty payments) if the support call is ignored.

One solution, but time-consuming, so only useful if you're STILL down
and looking for any solution no matter how time-consuming, before you
lose all your business...

is to host your DNS elsewhere. We offer the service, if you're
interested, but we're not the only ones, not even on this list, by a
long shot.

Sure there is. The issue is a timeout issue, though. I have no idea
how you're configured.

Please let us know what's happening.
