http://www.netsaint.org  surprisingly enough ;-)

We make great use of NetSaint here to monitor a whole host of services
on a large number of machines - HTTP/HTTPS, ASP, SMTP, Ping RTT, POP,
Load, disk space, processes... I could go on!

Loughborough University in the UK (where I used to work) now have it
monitoring things like disk space, web caches, toner & paper levels in
printers, ARP caches on switches... lots and lots of useful things.
