I called and spoke to them. Note that after the first year they
guarantee 99% recognition.

According to their salesdroids, that's because after the first year they
sell you an EquifaxSecure cert (that they allegedly have a special deal
on). I can't get anyone at Equifax to verify, so I haven't gone that
route yet.

And after all, if you're just looking to protect your own admin site,
there's nothing wrong with having to go through the "recognize the cert"
routine once, is there?

If you're looking to protect an eCommerce site, my opinion would be that
you'd want the Netscape people to see a secure cert, too. In any event,
I'm looking into selling the Tucows certs; at us$125, I'll make $26 on
each one <smile>.

It's not a disaster; it's an opportunity <smile>.
